Traditionally, metal-ceramic combinations are manufactured in the casting process. The result is influenced by many parameters that can lead to misfits and failed casts. Therefore, WECK DentalTechnik today relies on modern CAD/CAM-controlled milling technology and electroplating. These technologies offer numerous advantages: Blanks exhibit reliable material homogeneity, the manufacturing process is standardized, and the results are more predictable.
Non-precious metal dental prosthetics (NEM) milled
The standard solution for the production of dental prosthetics with excellent mechanical load-bearing capacity. NEM dental alloys are characterized by high corrosion resistance. Although allergic reactions are rare, they must be considered individually for patients.
Porcelain-fused-to-metal (PFM)
A very common method for the production of fixed dental prosthetics. It is solid, stable, and proven.
Precious metal (PM), milled – Gold
Precious metal restorations, especially those made of gold, have now become a niche product. In certain cases, however, gold remains an outstanding material. Since fine gold is too soft as a material, a precious metal alloy is always used as “dental gold.” In holistic dentistry, high-karat precious metal dental alloys are used as so-called bioalloys.
With digital CAD/CAM technology, we manufacture inlays, onlays, crowns, bridges, bars, telescopes, custom abutments, and directly screwed superstructures – precisely fitting. High-gold and gold-reduced alloys are available.
Crowns and bridges in electroplating
Bridges and crowns in electroplating consist of ceramics with inner surfaces coated with a thin layer of gold. The aesthetic advantages of ceramics are combined with the property of gold crowns that they can be used with conventional cement. This way, incompatibilities with the plastic materials commonly used in ceramics are avoided. Dental prosthetics in electroplating are characterized by excellent fit, which can surpass that of a cast gold crown.
Additional advantages:
- High biological compatibility
- Lower gold consumption compared to full cast or PFM crowns, making the price less dependent on the gold price
- Tooth base can be prepared (ground) more gently
